1. Jesus warns us not to become discouraged or lose heart in prayer. Why do you think we are prone to being discouraged in our prayers? What causes us to become discouraged?
2. What is the teaching point of this parable?
3. If we aren’t careful, how can we misinterpret this parable?
4. How are the unjust judge and God different?
5. Drawing back to Luke 17 about Jesus’ return, what type of faith is Jesus looking for when he returns?

REREAD: Luke 18:9-17

1. Who does it say that Jesus spoke this parable to?
2. How does thinking that you are righteous lead to you despising others?
3. Culturally in that day, how would the Pharisee have been viewed and how would the Tax Collector have been viewed?
4. How were the Tax Collector’s and the Pharisee’s prayers different?
5. How can we ensure that we are approaching God in humility rather than pride in our prayer lives?
