REREAD: Luke 13:1-9
- There were a group of Galileans who ended up on Pilate’s bad side so he killed them and had their blood mixed with the blood of their sacrifices.
- What was Jesus’ answer?
- What does it mean to repent?
- How does Jesus’ answer fly in the face of the idea of works being the determining factor of the outcome of people lives?
- What is the prosperity gospel?
- We tend to think that if bad things happen to us it is because we did bad and if good things happen to us it is because we did good. How can this mentality expose that we are believing in the prosperity gospel?
- What is the biblical relationship between works and grace? (see: Ephesians 2:8-10

- Why is this significant?
- Who caught his attention?
- Why do you think she caught his attention especially in light of what he just taught in 13:1-9?
- What did Jesus do to heal her?
- What didn’t he do?
- Why is that important to recognize?

- If this happened to you would you “glorify God” or do something else… be honest?
- There is no where in the law of God that says people could not be healed on the sabbath. The leader of the synagogue quoted Exodus 20:9-10. What was his true heart toward this situation and this woman?
- How can we tend to misuse God’s word in the same way as the leader of the synagogue?
