In the book of Hebrews, God wants us to consider who we really are, consider what life is really about, and most importantly Consider Jesus. Pray
Jesus we pray that we would consider You in all areas of our lives. Help us to focus our attention, trust you, soften our hearts, rest, and go on to MATURITY. We admit that we often act childish. We pray that through our surrender to Your work in us You would help us go on to MATURITY. We thank You for the promise of a new heaven and a new earth where we will be fully MATURE.

"Go On To Maturity"
The book of Hebrews was written to exhort believers and specifically Israelites to consider Jesus in the face of their culture. Some believers were considering turning back to practicing the sacrificial system of the Old Testament that Jesus fulfilled so they could escape being persecuted. As the writer walks the hearers and readers through much of the Old Testament ideas and systems, his desire is to clearly show them how to consider Jesus.

- Discuss how these passages reveal the necessity of God's word to help people be born (again) and go on to MATURITY.

- Read **John 16:7-15** The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of truth (vs.13) How is the Holy Spirit indwelling believers individually and believers gathered (family) crucial to understanding the Word and going on to MATURITY?

- The entire book of Hebrews is laying out clearly Jesus completed work of the Old Testament especially the priesthood and the sacrificial system with it's feasts. (Feast of Trumpets=Rosh Hashanah, The Days of Awe, Day of Atonement=Yom Kippur, The Feast of Tabernacles=Sukkot, Passover, Shavout=Feast of Weeks, etc). Discuss how Jesus brings the Old Testament pictures of a relationship with God and His people on to MATURITY for us.
